Located an easy 2 hours SW of Dallas and only 1.5 miles SE of the charming town of Hamilton lies the stunning 859.76 acre Santa Teresa Ranch. The ranch goes back decades to 1939 when the house was designed and built by a Dallas family who raised Hereford cattle here. The home is a southwestern ranch style home, representative of those times of big ranches, large cattle herds and large families. The owners were highly social people with a military background and the guest book reads like a Dallas who’s who. There were dinners and horseback riding, cattle sales, etc. The ranch later sold to another Dallas family who wanted to raise their five children in a ranching environment. The lady was a swim instructor and the first year in Hamilton she awarded 300 swimming certificates at the Hamilton city pool. Her husband built a pool behind the house the next year to “keep her home”. When he passed, she opened a steakhouse at the ranch…The Santa Teresa Steakhouse. She was a renowned cook and people came from all over to enjoy the meals and the setting. The ranch sold a few more times and another lovely couple held field trials, music events, parties, etc at the ranch and it was always considered “the place to be”. Then in 2003 the current owner purchased the ranch and with great love and passion restored the house and began work on the two casitas. For many years they enjoyed the land along with their family and friends and made memories that will forever be cherished. It is once again time to hand the reins over to a family who can create their legacy at the famed Santa Teresa Ranch.
